Close-up view of pullet apples. This apple named as “pullet” meaning “young chicken“ since their small fruits is a winter apple cultivar grown widely in Kocaeli, Giresun, Ordu, Trabzon and Rize provinces of the Eastern Black Sea coast. It can keep its freshness until in April and May in stores. The tree is big and strong and shows periodicity. So it rests a year and gives fruits other year. It is consumed as fresh, dried and baked.
