An evergreen shrub growing to 4.5m by 3m at a medium rate. It is hardy to zone 8 and is frost tender. It is in leaf all year, in flower from July to August, and the seeds ripen in October. The scented flowers are hermaphrodite (have both male and female organs) and are pollinated by bees. The plant is self-fertile.
