Object description

Taurus cedar or cedar of Lebanon (Cedrus libani A. Richard) belongs to conifers (conífera) class, Pinoideae ordo and Pinaceae family. It is is also called "tar" tree by the local people. Taurus cedars are full bodied, thick-branched and a majestic forest trees and they are of significance in terms of the landscape. They grow from the east of Denizli to Kahraman maras in the east on Taurus mountains and on Amanos mountains in Hatay. (Photo: Aydınlar (Avgadı) Village, Erdemli-Mersin).
